Baby Katherine

Behind-the-Scenes at Crimson Photos–by the new girl in the studio, Rachel Seilern.

I’m working on my very first assignment: editing the images from the photo shoot of Baby Katherine.  So it’s late in the afternoon. For the past three hours I’ve been looking at image after image of one of the most delicious babies I’ve seen yet!   So I get to this series of black and white images of the new daddy holding up his juicy baby girl by the soft light of a window and he gazes at her, his face all aglow with pride and affection, Feist is crooning a sweet gentle song in my ear from the speaker on my work table and I just can’t take it anymore!!  My eyes start welling up! ‘Stop it Rachel!!  It’s just a job! You don’t need to get all verklempt!’ I sniff and scold myself and laugh at myself and Nikki laughs at me too. Ahh…I have a sweet job!

(P.S. Funny thought:  After editing Baby Katherine images for 8 hours I got pretty attached to her. We are wondering if the same thing will happen when I edit portraits of real estate agents. )

Here is just a sample. We had to share the eye candy!

Casey & Kerrie: Get Married!!!

My little brother Casey also got married this year (May) in Jamaica! Two weddings for our family this year. Now it’s my little sisters turn  – he better be special… The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Although it rained in the morning and they did not get married on the beach, the other option in the colonnade was stunning and intimate. I am so happy that my brother has found someone like Kerrie. It is so easy to see how much she loves and adores him. Isn’t he the cutest! Marriage is beautiful, not just the event, but also the journey… Her dress was custom made by my aunt who is one of the most talented designers I know. She also made my dress and co-designed it with me. The wedding was held at the Grand Palladium in Negril, Jamaica

Harris Family: Round 2!

Yay! I had the privilege of photographing Furrah, Omar, Noah and new baby Lylah!! I photographed little Noah about a year ago… Let’s just say he wasn’t too fond of the camera… This time round however, I was his new best friend!!! He was the perfect little model. He did everything I asked and more. Furrah said I’m his new found girlfriend… What a delight. I always love watching and documenting families as they grow. It’s also very interesting watching the first-born adjust to the new baby… (A healthy adjustment to help them recognize that they are not the center of the universe…)  All the best to you guys in this exciting new stage of your lives! xoxo Nikki
